Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) - Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani today received United Nations Secretary General’s Special Representative to Iraq, Mr. Ján Kubiš, and his accompanying delegation.

The relations between Erbil and Baghdad and the latest developments in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq were discussed, emphasizing the importance of ending the tension in the disputed territories and beginning a serious dialogue to resolve outstanding issues.

They both underlined the necessity of the involvement of the international community in preparing the ground for dialogue.

Prime Minister Barzani reiterated that dialogue and negotiations are the only way to resolve all outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad, which the KRG has always been supportive of.
