Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) - Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani received European Union Ambassador to Iraq Ramon Blecua and his accompanying delegation.

They discussed the latest political developments in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, the process of the formation of the Iraqi government, EU relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, relations between Erbil and Baghdad, elections in the Kurdistan Region and the formation of the new Kurdistan Regional Government.

Prime Minister Barzani stressed that the current situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region needs to be further stabilized, with security, services, and economic reform as priorities.

He affirmed that the Kurdistan Region considers European Union relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region with great importance.

The latest developments in the greater region were also discussed.
