Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) – In a message, Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani congratulated the Christians on the occasion of Christmas.

Below is the text of Prime Minister Barzani's message:

We congratulate all Christian citizens in the Kurdistan Region and around the world on the occasion of Christmas and wish them a peaceful and happy holiday season.

As we celebrate Christmas this year, sadly, many Christians are still displaced and have not been able to return to their places of origin. We hope that they will soon celebrate upcoming holidays at their homes with dignity in a stable and peaceful Iraq and world.

On this occasion, we reaffirm our long-standing tradition of peaceful coexistence and tolerance among Kurdistan’s religious and ethnic communities.

We will preserve this culture, which is an important part of Kurdistan communities’ pride and rich diversity.

Once again, we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season.
