Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) - Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani received a British delegation, led by Lord Nazir Ahmed, Minister of State for the Commonwealth and the United Nations, who is also UK Prime Minister's Special Representative on Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict.

Lord Ahmed expressed his appreciation for the support being provided by the Kurdistan Regional Government to protect the rights of individuals from all ethnic and religious backgrounds in Kurdistan Region, especially in areas of conflict.

Prime Minister Barzani thanked Lord Ahmed and his delegation and expressed his appreciation for the UK Government's humanitarian aid to the Kurdistan Region. He stressed that the KRG attaches great importance to the protection of the rights of all individuals and communities in the Kurdistan Region. He said this is a policy priority of the KRG that will continue.

Other relevant issues including the war against terrorism and the situation of displaced people and the refugees were also discussed.
