Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) - Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani received the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in the Kurdistan Region Mr. Mehmet Akif Inam.

In the meeting Mr. Inam bid farewell to Prime Minister Barzani as his official duty in the Kurdistan Region came to end. He thanked the Kurdistan Regional Government and Prime Minister Barzani for all the support extended to him during his four-year tenure in the Kurdistan Region and stressed the importance of the relationship between Erbil and Ankara and its development.

Prime Minister Barzani thanked Mr. Inam for his role in strengthening relations between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey and wished him success in his future position. He also thanked the Turkish Government for helping the victims of the recent earthquake that hit the Kurdistan Region.

Prime Minister Barzani stressed that the Kurdistan Region considers its relations with Turkey as very important and hoped that these relations develop again and expand in all fields.
