Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) - Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani received the People’s Republic of China’s Consul General in the Kurdistan Region Mr. Tan Banglin. He delievered to the Prime Minister Barzani a message from his country’s Foreign Minister, Mr. Wang Yi.

Mr. Wang Yi expressed his wishes for a peaceful settlement of the disputes between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region based on the Iraqi Constitution.

Prime Minister Barzani appreciated Mr. Wang Yi’s message and also thanked Mr. Tan Banglin for his efforts to develop relations between Erbil and Beijing, reiterating that the Kurdistan Region desires to strengthen its relations with China in all fields.

In the meeting Prime Minister Barzani and Consul General Banglin, also discussed the latest developments in Kurdistan, Iraq and the wider region. They agreed that all outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad need to be resolved through negotiations and dialogue.
