Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) – Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani and Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani on Wednesday met with Iraqi President Fuad Masum during his visit to the Kurdistan Region.

They discussed the political situation in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq and the ongoing efforts to resolve outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad.

President Masum stressed there is a will in both Erbil and Baghdad to turn a new page and start an inclusive and constructive dialogue that serves the interests of all Iraqis to guarantee unity, implementation of the Constitution, and progress in all fields.

Prime Minister Barzani appreciated the efforts of President Masum to bring the leaders of Erbil and Baghdad together and voiced the Kurdistan Region’s readiness to start a serious and constructive dialogue with the Federal Government in Baghdad.
