Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) – Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani met with the British Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Jon Wilks, and British Consul General to the Kurdistan Region, Mr. Martyn Warr. 

In the meeting on Monday evening, the latest developments and the talks between the Kurdistan Region and Iraqi authorities were discussed, particularly the recent meetings between officials from the Region and the federal government in Baghdad and Erbil. Both sides stressed the need to continue these talks at various levels to resolve outstanding issues and move towards creating a positive atmosphere for dialogue.

Ambassador Wilks said that his government is exerting serious efforts to help solve the outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad, and renewed an invitation for Prime Minister Barzani to visit Britain in the near future.

The general situation in the Kurdistan Region, upcoming elections in Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region were also discussed in the meeting.
