Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) - Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani received Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Iraq Chen Wicheng and his diplomatic delegation.

Ambassador Wicheng highly valued the victories and sacrifices of the Kurdistan Region in the face of terrorism. He also expressed his support for dialogue between the Kurdistan Region and Iraqi government, and hoped for resolving all issues on the basis of the Iraqi federal Constitution.

He stressed the strengthening of relations between the Kurdistan Region and People's Republic of China, especially in economic field, and his country's willingness to urge and encourage Chinese companies to invest in the Kurdistan Region.

Prime Minister Barzani briefed Ambassador Wicheng about the sacrifices of the Kurdistan Region in the face of terrorism, the dialogue with Baghdad, resumption of international flights, and anticipated part payment of salaries.

He said these are important step and emphasized solutions to all issues are needed on the basis of the Constitution. He also pointed out that the Kurdistan Region looks forward with interest to strengthening relations with People's Republic of China and expressed readiness to provide necessary assistance and facilities for Chinese companies to invest in the Kurdistan Region.
