Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) – Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani received Belgium’s Ambassador to Iraq and Jordan, Mr. Hendrik Van de Velde and his accompanying delegation.

Ambassador Van de Velde extended Belgian Government’s condolences to Prime Minister Barzani on the passing of his brother, Mr. Dilovan Idris Barzani.

The two sides discussed the political situation in Iraq, the progress made in the talks between the Kurdistan Region and Iraqi federal government, the upcoming elections in Iraq and Kurdistan, Post-ISIS era, and the situation of the internally displace persons, were discussed in the meeting.

Prime Minister Barzani also briefed the delegation about the progress made in KRG’s plan of economic reforms.

Topics related to the situation in the greater region were also discussed.
