Prime Minister Masrour Barzani receives German and French Ambassadors to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today welcomed Ola Dil, German Ambassador to Iraq, and Bruno Obert, French Ambassador to Iraq to discuss strengthening ties between the Kurdistan Region and the two European nations.

The ambassadors expressed their countries’ readiness to enhance cooperation with the Kurdistan Region, highlighting the many opportunities to further develop their relations with the Kurdistan Regional Government.

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani updated the officials on ongoing discussions between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Federal government of Iraq, reiterating Erbil’s commitment to resolving outstanding issues and reaching an agreement based on the principles of the constitution and in the interest of all Iraqi citizens. He also underscored the importance of implementing the Shingal agreement to allow peace and stability to return to the area.

The Prime Minister expressed the Kurdistan Regional Government’s gratitude to the two countries for supporting the Kurdistan Region, particularly in the fight against terrorism.
