Deputy Prime Minister Talabani meets with UNAMI and WHO representatives, thanks them for aid in fight against coronavirus

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani on Sunday met with representatives from the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) and the World Health Organization (WHO) in Erbil, to discuss the latest developments in the fight against the coronavirus.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the aid the Kurdistan Region has received from UNAMI and WHO. In the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister reiterated the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) commitment to following scientific and public health guidelines in fighting the disease.

UNAMI’s Special Representative, Ms. Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, and WHO’s Representative to Iraq, Dr Adham Ismail, commended the lockdown measures taken by the KRG.

The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the representatives for their continued help.
