Deputy PM Qubad Talabani meets with the Anti-Corruption and Integrity Committee in Sulaymaniyah

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani today held a meeting with the Sulaymaniyah Municipality’s committee combatting corruption and the misuse of public funds to discuss ongoing efforts and progress.

In the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister reiterated his full support for the committee’s work and urged its members to continue investigating cases of misappropriated or misused public funds, as well as cutting down on wasteful spending to increase the efficiency and integrity of the municipality’s public service delivery.

The Anti-Corruption and Integrity Committee was established by Deputy Prime Minister Talabani on 6 April, 2021, under decree 3662, to investigate cases of corruption or irresponsible spending within the jurisdiction of the Sulaymaniyah Municipality and to increase accountability and integrity in the public sector.
