Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani meets with Armenian Deputy Prime Minister

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - A delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government leading by Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani today met with Armenian Deputy Prime Minister, Mher Grigoryan, and Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Hayk Chobanyan, during their bilateral visit to Armenia.

The Deputy Prime Minister held a series of meetings to explore ways to improve bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Republic of Armenia. Both sides agreed to continue having a formal exchange to draw on the expertise of the Armenian government in digitalizing public services and how to improve the Kurdistan Region’s tech infrastructure.

During the meetings, Deputy Prime Minister Talabani highlighted the opportunity for polytechnic institutes Kurdistan and Armenia to collaborate on scientific and technical research. In a separate meeting with the Armenian Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises, a preliminary agreement was made for Armenian companies to come teach high school students as part of a special information technology programme.

The Deputy Prime Minister is joined by the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Minister of Planning, Dara Rashid, and the President of the Diwan of Council of Ministers, Umed Sabah.
