Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani meets with Armenian Foreign Minister

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani today met with Ara Aivazian, Foreign Minister of Armenia, to discuss the development of bilateral relations and the establishment of direct flights between the Kurdistan Region and Armenia.

Both sides discussed regional developments and agreed to establish joint programs to leverage shared interests between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Armenian government. The Deputy Prime Minister also recognised many Kurds reside in Armenia, notably students, and that Kurdistan boasts a large Armenian community, highlighting the importance of facilitating travel and trade between the Kurdistan Region and Armenia.

Deputy Prime Minister Talabani emphasised that direct flights between the Kurdistan Region and Armenia are scheduled to begin next month, and will facilitate trade, investments, and the sharing of expertise.
