Statement by Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani on 59th Anniversary of the Kurdistan Teachers Union

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani today released the following statement on the occasion of the 59th anniversary of Kurdistan Teachers Union:

“Congratulations to our teachers, educators, and the president and members of the Kurdistan Teachers Union. You founded this organisation 59 years ago, and you are still going strong, more resolved than ever to educate and expand the minds of generations of youth.

“Since its inception, this organisation has played a role in helping shape Kurdistan. We recognise, to this day, its sacrifices during our nation’s struggle for freedom and liberty to preserve knowledge and educate new generations of independent thinkers.

“For your continued loyalty, generosity, and resilience, we thank you. Your ongoing service to build a better education system and shape the minds of our future leaders is something of which we should all be proud.

“We hope that you will continue on this path that you have taken to serve our dear Kurdistan, and know that the Kurdistan Regional Government will support you through all of the hardships our nation faces.

“Once again, we wish you all the best and hope that the Kurdistan Teachers Union will continue to work passionately, as you have in the past, to serve and protect the national pride that is our teachers.”
