Arrival of American aid to Peshmerga forces in the new year

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - Thursday, 1/7/2021, a new aid convoy from the international coalition against ISIS for the Peshmerga forces arrived in the Kurdistan Region during a signing ceremony that took place in the presence of Colonel William, Deputy Commander of US Forces in Iraq, and Brigadier General Sherzad Asaad, head of the committee for the delivery of new aid from the international coalition against ISIS.

 

In this regard, Colonel William spoke with the Information Center of the Ministry of Peshmerga, noting the new batch of military aid consists of a wide range of necessary supplies, including military vehicles, as part of continued coordination and bilateral cooperation with the Ministry of Peshmerga. The Colonel indicated that military aid will continue in the near future.

 

Brigadier General Asaad, responsible for the delivery of military aid from the International Coalition, spoke to the Information Center of the Peshmerga Ministry, and said the new batch of military supplies had been received within the framework of military cooperation.

 

He thanked the International Coalition for their continued support to the Ministry of Peshmerga and that this aid remains necessary and assists the important task of properly arming the Peshmerga forces. He also underscored that he hopes the support to the Ministry of Peshmerga will continue as effectively.
