KRG Prime Minister Bids Farewell to EU Liaison Head

On Saturday, 24 August 2024, Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), bade farewell to Torkild Byg, Head of the European Union's Liaison Office in the Kurdistan Region.

Prime Minister Barzani expressed his gratitude to the European Union for its continued support to the Kurdistan Region, and to Mr Byg for his role in strengthening bilateral relations.

The EU representative emphasised the importance of the European Union's cooperation and coordination with the KRG.

During the meeting, they also discussed the upcoming parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region and the importance of international observers, especially from the European Union, to ensure a fair election.
