KRG Prime Minister Oversees Agricultural MoU Between Jordan and Kurdistan Region

On Sunday, 25 August 2024, Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), met with Khaled Musa Al Henefat, the Jordanian Minister of Agriculture.

The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between the two sides in trade, agriculture, food industry, and the marketing of agricultural products.

Prime Minister Barzani expressed the Kurdistan Region's gratitude and appreciation for the continuous support of King Abdullah II, as well as the government and people of Jordan. He acknowledged their support at various stages and conveyed the KRG's desire to further strengthen bilateral relations.

Later on, under the supervision of Prime Minister Barzani, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the respective ministries of Agriculture of the Kurdistan Region and the Kingdom of Jordan. This aims to enhance cooperation in agriculture and the food industry, with Jordan set to import the Kurdistan Region's agricultural products, including potatoes, as an initial step.
