KRG Prime Minister Engages in Diplomatic Talks with Senator Tammy Duckworth

On 28 February 2024, Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with Senator Tammy Duckworth, a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, in Washington D.C.

Prime Minister Barzani provided a concise overview of the overall situation in Iraq, emphasising the crucial need to address issues between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government. Specifically, he highlighted the importance of resolving matters such as financial entitlements, the regional budget, resuming oil exports, ensuring security and peace in the Kurdistan Region, and safeguarding the rights of diverse religious and ethnic groups.

Senator Duckworth reaffirmed her unwavering support for the Kurdistan Region, emphasising her commitment to safeguarding the region and facilitating the resolution of issues between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government.
