Work on Barzan water project has resumed
Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) - The work on the strategic water project of Barzan, which will benefit 51 villages in the area, has resumed and is scheduled to be completed in 615 days.
Previously, the Minister of Municipalities and Tourism Sasan Awni, along with the Director General of the Water and Sewage Department in the Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism Ari Ahmed, visited the site of the project in Barzan and met with a number of administrative officials, project engineers, and the project’s executives where they touched upon the resumption of work on the project.
The water project will be completed under the supervision of the General Directorate of Water and Sewage with a budget of more than 138 billion Iraqi dinars from the investment plan of the Ministry of Municipality and Tourism. The project can provide 1,200 cubic meters of drinking water in an hour to the villagers in Barzan. The completion of the project will solve the issues of drinking water shortages in the villages.
