KRG continues cooperating with federal government to resolve issues
Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is ready to draft the 2023 budget bill and there is a mutual understanding between Erbil and Baghdad to determine the Kurdistan Region’s share of the bill and resolve the financial issues between the two.
“The Ninth Cabinet has continued developing its relations with the Iraqi federal government since its inauguration. The Kurdistan Region’s delegations have visited Baghdad multiple times and several committees have been formed on issues such as the 2023 budget bill, oil, and financial supervision. There is a cooperation between Iraq and Kurdistan Region’s financial supervision diwan,” KRG Spokesperson, Dr. Jotiar Adel told the government’s official website.
A KRG delegation visited Baghdad before the New Year.
Dr. Adel emphasized that the delegation is “ready to visit Baghdad whenever necessary to discuss the significant issues mentioned along with a number of other matters related to the disputed territories and Peshmerga. Therefore, we as the government, are ready to visit Baghdad whenever the timing is set.”
