The revenue of the Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism increased by 55%

Sasan Auni, Minister of Municipalities and Tourism of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), said according to the plan, the ministry was able to increase 55% of the revenue of the ministry last year and part of the revenue will be spend on municipal services.

Sasan Auni said: “On the continuous recommendations and instructions of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani to all ministries of the Kurdistan Regional Government on the organization of domestic revenues, the Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism, organized our domestic revenues for 2022 and our goal was to increase our revenues by 35% compared to the revenues of 2021, but as of December 22, 2022, the revenue of all offices of the Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism was 306 billion and 250 million dinars. Which was increased by 55% compared to 2021".

Sasan Auni mentioned that they can benefit from the revenue in two ways, that 15% of the revenue in each municipality in each general directorate will be used to provide services to the same city and town and 17% of the revenue will be used for water and sewerage service projects across all Kurdistan.
