Tourism sector has increased by 35 percent

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – The revival and development of the tourism sector is one of the goals of the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government.

In 2022, 6 million 168 thousand tourists visited the Kurdistan Region, compared to 2021, there were 4 million 189 thousand 569 tourists, an average of 1 million 978 thousand 431 tourists more than the previous year.

The statistics of tourists for 2022, according to the provinces of the Kurdistan Region, and compared to the previous year are as follows:

Erbil province, 2 million 752 thousand tourists.

Sulaimani province, 2 million 545 thousand 156 tourists

Duhok province, 2 million 340 thousand tourists

For 2021, the budget is as follows:

Erbil, 2 million 51 thousand 550 tourists

Sulaimani, 1 million 501 thousand 881 tourists

Duhok 613 thousand 978 tourists

Garmian, 22 thousand 160 tourists

The statistics of tourists only for the New Year 2023 are as follows:

Erbil, 61,000 tourists, Sulaimani, 64,000 and Duhok, 55,000 tourists.
