Statement from the Kurdistan Regional Government

The amendments introduced by certain members of the Finance Committee in the Iraqi Parliament on May 25 are against the interests of the Kurdistan Region. These amendments clearly violate the constitution and undermine the agreement reached between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Federal Government of Iraq. Furthermore, they stand in direct opposition to the principles outlined in the government formation and the cabinet program that received majority support in Iraqi Parliament.

The Kurdistan Regional Government firmly rejects these oppressive measures that infringe upon the rights of the Kurdish people. We are resolute in adhering only to the agreement previously reached with Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani's government and will not accommodate any other alternative arrangement.
