Digital Job Portal Launched in the Kurdistan Region

On 10 November 2024, the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, in partnership with the International Labour Organisation (ILO), and with funding from the European Union, launched the Digital Employment Platform.

This initiative aims to boost employment opportunities and increase job market participation in the Kurdistan Region by streamlining job applications and aligning skills with market demands. The platform provides modern digital tools for both job seekers and employers alike, enabling a more efficient job tracking and recruitment process.

To commemorate the platform's launch, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, in collaboration with the ILO and the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, hosted an inauguration ceremony featuring a job fair at the Erbil International Gallery.

The programme aims to inform job seekers and employers about the Digital Employment Platform, highlighting the skills required for successful application. Additionally, it seeks to facilitate exchanges between the government, job seekers and employers to address employment challenges and explore opportunities within the region.

The programme aims to develop a comprehensive plan to promote employment, expand social security, and foster an environment conducive to private sector growth in the Kurdistan Region.

Additionally, it will benefit government institutions, international organisations, the private sector, entrepreneurs, and youth activists alike.
