KRG to pay 120,000 public sector beneficiaries through 'My Account'
Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – The KRG will pay more than 120,000 public sector beneficiaries this month through the 'My Account' initiative, the KRG's financial inclusion program.
This figure includes more than 17,000 Peshmerga from the integrated brigades, in line with the reform agenda under the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs.
The payments will be deposited in bank accounts with CBI-licensed banks operating in the Kurdistan Region. Employees have freely selected their banks, in line with the core principles of the program to drive retail competition. More than 193 ATMs have been installed in 60 locations to ensure access to cash for the general public.
The KRG expects to increase the number of digital payments next month in accordance with its commitment to move more than one million KRG beneficiaries into retail banking by the end of 2024.
