Erbil Water Supply Emergency Project to Finish Ahead of Schedule

The $480 million Erbil Water Supply Emergency Project is on track to be completed ahead of schedule this summer.
Now in its final phase, 75% of the project has been completed. Once operational, it will provide 20,000 cubic metres of water per hour and has already created 25,000 direct and indirect job opportunities.
As part of the project, 500 kilometres of pipeline are being laid across Erbil city, alongside the development of a water distribution network serving local neighbourhoods.
The project will also enable the closure of 1,000 water wells, offering a sustainable solution to Erbil’s water needs for the next 30 years.
