Halabja Steel Silo Nears Completion

The Halabja steel silo, with a total capacity of 40,000 tonnes of wheat, includes 16 warehouses, 10 storage units, multiple buildings, and various administrative departments. The project is nearing completion.

With a total cost of IQD 26 billion and an implementation period of 700 days, approximately 85% of the construction has been completed to date.

Once operational, the silo will significantly improve wheat storage capacity and bolster agricultural development, providing vital support to farmers across the region.

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) continues to invest in strengthening the region’s economic infrastructure. Under the leadership of the ninth cabinet, silos have been constructed in Qushtapa, Bardarash, Halabja, and Kalar. Several additional facilities are currently under construction and are expected to be completed in the near future.
