Major Road Project Near Completion in Slemani

The Tofiq Wahbi Intersection, a flagship infrastructure project of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in Slemani, is nearing completion.
Situated on Malik Mahmoud Ring Road, the project is overseen by the Slemani Municipality Office.
The construction is being implemented in three phases. The first phase completed the secondary roads, while the second phase finalised the upper section of the underpass, which opened to traffic last week. The third and final phase is currently about 50% complete, with work continuing.
The total cost of the project is estimated at IQD 12 billion, and it is scheduled for completion by the end of this year.
Once finished, the project is expected to play a crucial role in connecting the eastern and western parts of the city and in easing congestion on Salim Street, significantly improving traffic flow.
