Nearly 95% of unified Peshmerga brigades paid U.S.-funded allowances digitally

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is pleased to announce that nearly 95% of the Peshmerga in the unified brigades received U.S.-funded allowances for June through digital channels.
This is a significant increase compared to last month, and as part of the agreement between the United States and the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs, distribution of all US-funded allowances through bank accounts, under MyAccount.

To date, more than 750,000 beneficiaries on the public payroll have registered for bank accounts under the KRG’s financial inclusion programme, MyAccount. The KRG plans to move all public sector payments to licensed banks.

Last month, over 365,000 civil servants were paid digitally through partner banks licensed and approved by the Central Bank of Iraq. Nearly 400 ATMs have been deployed across the Kurdistan Region to provide citizens with 24-hour access to cash.
