Kurdistan Region Strengthens Agricultural Trade with UAE Potato Exports

As part of its ongoing efforts to support farmers and strengthen domestic production, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is facilitating the export of local agricultural products to international markets.

Under this initiative, 6,000 tonnes of potatoes will be exported to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) this year.

With its fertile soil and favourable climate, the Kurdistan Region produces a wide range of agricultural goods annually. Potatoes remain a leading product, with an estimated annual output of 600,000 tonnes. Renowned for their quality, Kurdistan’s potatoes have attracted growing interest from international food industry brands.

The KRG’s ninth cabinet continues to prioritise agricultural development and market expansion, aiming to enhance local production, increase exports, and improve the livelihoods of farmers across the Kurdistan Region.
