The Department of Media and Information launches the “News Service”

For the First Time in the Kurdistan Region: The Department of Media and Information Launches "Khezmati Hawal", The News Service in Collaboration with Meta.

Erbil, [Nov 24, 2025] – In a pioneering step to enhance transparency and advance government communication mechanisms, the Department of Media and Information (DMI) in the Kurdistan Regional Government
(KRG) has announced the launch of its innovative program, "Khezmati Hawal" (The News Service).

This service, designed for the first time in the Kurdistan Region in collaboration with Meta, is a direct communication platform aimed at providing journalists, media institutions, academics, and researchers with the latest official information and data.

"Khezmati Hawal" aims to provide immediate and organized access to all government activities, policies, and programs. Content will be sent directly to the registered WhatsApp numbers of subscribers, ensuring speed and efficiency in information delivery.

The materials sent will include:
• Detailed information on government projects.
• Periodic reports (annual and semi-annual) supported by figures and statistics on government activities and achievements.
• Weekly statements from Council of Ministers meetings and other important or urgent announcements.
• High-quality multimedia files, including videos, photographs, and
ready-to-use graphic designs.

On this occasion, Mr. (JOTIAR ADIL), Head of the Department of Media and Information stated: "We believe that seamless and accurate access to information is the cornerstone of building trust and strengthening the relationship between the government and the media and academic landscapes.

"Khezmati Hawal" is not just a technological tool; it is a commitment from our government to apply the highest standards of transparency and effective communication. Our partnership with Meta in this first
of-its-kind project underscores our endeavour to adopt the latest technologies to serve our citizens and journalists in the Kurdistan Region."
