Nearly 550,000 employees and pensioners paid through MyAccount

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – The KRG Ministry of Finance and Economy is pleased to announce that nearly 550,000 civil servants and pensioners will be paid their August salaries digitally through the KRG’s financial inclusion program, MyAccount.

This month, more than 60,000 pensioners across the Kurdistan Region will receive payments digitally, bringing them peace of mind and comfort.

To date, more than 900,000 public sector beneficiaries have registered for bank accounts under MyAccount. The program has seen the deployment of more than 490 ATMs across the Kurdistan Region, ensuring 24-hour access to cash for citizens more generally.

The MyAccount program was announced by the Prime Minister Masrour Barzani in 2023 as part of the 9th cabinet’s agenda to modernise banking services and strengthen financial inclusion across the Kurdistan Region.
