Over half a million beneficiaries paid through MyAccount

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – The KRG Ministry of Finance and Economy is pleased to announce that over 500,000 civil servants and pensioners on the KRG payroll will be paid their July salaries digitally through the KRG’s financial inclusion program, MyAccount.

This month, the number of pensioners paid digitally has more than doubled, growing from around 20,000 to nearly 45,000 across the Kurdistan Region.

To date, more than 900,000 public sector beneficiaries have registered for bank accounts under MyAccount. The program has seen the deployment of more than 450 ATMs across the Kurdistan Region, ensuring 24-hour access to cash for citizens more generally.

The MyAccount program was announced by the Prime Minister Masrour Barzani in 2023 as part of the 9th cabinet’s agenda to modernise banking services and strengthen financial inclusion across the Kurdistan Region.
