Upgrading Erbil–Duhok Connectivity: Ba’adre–Etit Highway Progress

The 26 km Ba’adre–Etit Strategic Highway Project in Duhok is advancing at a total cost of IQD 135 billion. With a project timeline of 1,800 days, 68% of the work has already been completed.

The project consists of three phases:

- First phase (9 km): nearing completion.

- Second phase (8 km): currently underway.

- Third phase (9 km): construction in progress.

Once completed, the entire Erbil–Duhok road will be upgraded to a modern dual carriageway, improving connectivity, reducing travel times, and supporting economic, trade, and tourism development across the Region.

The Ninth Cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government remains committed to strengthening road infrastructure as a strategic priority, with the goal of serving citizens and enhancing accessibility throughout the Kurdistan Region.
