Kawlokan Corniche Project to Boost Tourism and Development in Soran District

The Kawlokan Corniche Project, a central component of the Soran District Tourism Master Plan, is now under implementation and expected to transform the area into a leading destination for visitors.
In its first phase, the project will develop five ponds along a 4-kilometer stretch of river, complemented by landscaped green spaces, cafés, and restaurants.
A key element of the plan is water storage, designed not only to support tourism but also to strengthen agriculture, replenish groundwater, and promote fisheries.
By combining environmental sustainability with modern tourism facilities, the project is set to enhance the Region’s appeal, stimulate economic growth, and create lasting opportunities for local communities. Already, it has generated significant employment for residents in the area.
Despite existing challenges, the Kurdistan Regional Government remains committed to improving services and advancing development projects across the Region.
