Over 33,000 Students Return to School Under KRG Initiative

The Ninth Cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has made significant progress in tackling illiteracy and promoting education, with the ultimate goal of reducing the illiteracy rate in the Kurdistan Region to near zero.
According to official data, 33,271 students have been re-enrolled in schools under the Ninth Cabinet, including 6,888 students in 2024 alone.
This initiative has already lowered the illiteracy rate from 24% to 16%, marking a major step forward for education in the Region.
