Shaqlawa–Korre Road to Enhance Transport Safety and Connectivity

The Shaqlawa–Korre road is a strategic 10-kilometre dual carriageway developed under the Ninth Cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government.

With an investment of IQD 90.538 billion, the project is being constructed to the highest international standards.

As part of the works, the Mirawa and Mawran tunnels will be fully completed.

Relying on local labour, the project has already reached 35% completion and is expected to be delivered ahead of its original two-year schedule.

The project also features three intersections designed to significantly improve traffic flow. In addition to serving citizens and local communities, the completed road will reduce congestion and minimise traffic accidents along this vital route.
