Etit–Ba’adre Strategic Road Project Reaches 75% Completion

As part of the Ninth Cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) focus on road and economic infrastructure, the strategic Etit–Ba’adre road project in Duhok Governorate is progressing rapidly.

Significance and Characteristics of the Project:
This project, considered one of the most important in the area, connects the entrance of Duhok to the Ba’adre sub-district. The road is 26 kilometres long and is divided into three main phases.

Progress of Works:
According to the latest figures, the project is 30% ahead of schedule, reflecting the speed and precision of its implementation.
• Overall completion: 75% of the total project has been completed to date.
• Phase One: In its final stages.
• Phases Two and Three: Work is continuing intensively and at a rapid pace.

Engineering Structure and Cost:
The project is being implemented at a cost of IQD 135 billion and is expected to serve as a major traffic artery in the area. To facilitate traffic flow and reduce congestion, the project includes 10 overpasses and underpasses constructed in accordance with international standards.

Through such strategic projects, the KRG aims to ease the movement of citizens and further develop the region’s business and economic sectors.
