Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani Meets the Iranian Ambassador to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani on Wednesday received the Iranian Ambassador to Iraq, Iraj Masjedi.

Deputy Prime Minister Talabani updated Ambassador Masjedi on continuing discussions between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Federal Government of Iraq as part of efforts to secure a stable and mutually-respecting relationship.

The two officials agreed that constructive dialogue lays the foundation for stability and prosperity in Iraq, with Deputy Prime Minister Talabani reaffirming the Kurdistan Regional Government's commitment to peaceful talks between Erbil and Baghdad, underpinned by the Kurdistan Region's rights enshrined in the constitution.

During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Talabani and Ambassador Masjedi also discussed the strengthening of bilateral ties between the Kurdistan Region and Iran.
