Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani meets with Greek delegation

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani today met with the Greek Ambassador to Iraq, Leonidas Kontovounesios and the Greek Consul-General to Erbil, Efthymios Costopoulos.

The two officials discussed strengthening bilateral relations between Erbil and Athens, particularly in the tourism sector, and agreed to launch the first direct flights between the Kurdistan Region and Greece.

Highlighting the Kurdistan Regional Government’s interest in attracting Greek investors, the Deputy Prime Minister updated Ambassador Kontovounesios on economic opportunities in the Kurdistan Region.

Deputy Prime Minister Talabani and Ambassador Kontovounesios also explored opportunities for bilateral collaboration in the agricultural, trade, and banking sectors.
