Kurdistan Regional Government High-Level Committee meets with Sadrist Movement Political Committee

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – The Kurdistan Regional Government High-Level Committee on Baghdad Relations, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani, today met with the political committee of the Sadrist Movement in Baghdad.

During the meeting, the head of the Sadrist Movement Political Committee, Nassar Al-Rubaye, affirmed that Iraq’s wealth belongs to every Iraqi, including the people of the Kurdistan Region. He also expressed his support for resolving constitutional and budgetary disputes in a manner reflecting the interests of everyone.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed the Kurdistan Regional Government’s commitment to strengthening relations with the Federal Government and to negotiate a fair and equitable agreement within the framework of the constitution to protect the rights and entitlements of the Kurdistan Region. He also reiterated the Kurdistan Region’s readiness to commit to the contents of the Council of Representative’s Fiscal Deficit bill.

Both sides agreed to work together to implement the articles of the Fiscal Deficit Bill in order to resolve outstanding financial issues.
