Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani chairs kick-off meeting on Phase II of Biometric Project

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani on Monday chaired a kick-off meeting of the high-level committee tasked to manage Phase II of the Biometric Programme.

The Deputy Prime Minister underlined the importance of biometric project in increasing transparency, and improving public services. He added that the system will also help accelerate the cabinet's reform agenda.

The meeting decided to form a committee from the Ministry of Finance and Economy, Department of Coordination and Follow-up and Department of Information Technology to continue registering genuine public sector beneficiaries, and remove those receiving multiple, illegal salaries from the public payroll.
