Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani visits Kurdistan Parliament

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani, leading the Baghdad negotiation team, today visited the Kurdistan Parliament and met with the Parliamentary Speaker and several members of parliament.

The delegation then met with the heads of political factions and committees to discuss stipulations in the agreement the Kurdistan Regional Government reached with Iraqi parties to pass the 2021 federal budget bill.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted the efforts of the delegation would be ongoing, and expressed hope the hard work will result in the Federal Government of Iraq respecting its financial obligations to the Kurdistan Region. He also reaffirmed the Kurdistan Regional Government remains committed to implementing the agreement and has tasked the relevant authorities on this matter.

The Speaker and members of Parliament praised the delegation and the Kurdistan Regional Government for its efforts and reiterated the importance of the budget bill being implemented in accordance with the constitution.
