Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani meets with the German Consul General and Canadian Head of the Embassy Office

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) –Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani today held a series of diplomatic meetings and met with Klemens Semtner, the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, and Ashley Durec, the Head of the Embassy Office of Canada.

In his meeting with the outgoing Canadian diplomat, Deputy Prime Minister Talabani thanked Ms. Durec for her work and expressed gratitude on behalf of the Kurdistan Regional Government for her efforts in strengthening ties between the Kurdistan Region and Canada. They also discussed the latest developments in the region and the progress the Kurdistan Regional Government has accomplished in advancing reforms despite domestic and global hardships.

The Deputy Prime Minister also met with Consul General Semtner to discuss ongoing efforts by the Kurdistan Regional Government to implement reforms, including with the Ministry of Peshmerga, and enhance the delivery of public services. Deputy Prime Minister Talabani thanked Germany for its support to the Kurdistan Region as both parties continue to work together to reorganise and modernise the Peshmerga Forces.
