Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani meets with Turkish Ambassador to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani today met with the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Ali Riza Guney, and the Turkish Consul General in Erbil, Hakan Karacay, to discuss the latest regional political developments.

Both parties underscored the need to preserve the stability and the security of Iraq, which includes prioritizing a constructive dialogue in the formation of the new federal government as well as greater security cooperation between forces to address the growing ISIS threat.

The Deputy Prime Minister also welcomed the strengthening of bilateral relations and economic ties between Turkey and the Kurdistan Region, and encouraged private investors to consider the Kurdistan Region as a preferred business destination.
