KRG Deputy Prime Minister meets with new Russian Ambassador to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani today received a delegation headed by the new Russian Ambassador to Iraq, Elbrus Kutrashev, to discuss trade relations and bilateral ties.

Deputy Prime Minister Tabalani welcomed Ambassador Kutrashev into his new role and outlined the KRG’s readiness to continue deepening economic ties between the Kurdistan Region and Russia as it works to engage with international investors.

While discussing the political situation in Iraq, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed concern regarding the lack of implementation of the federal budget bill. He called upon the international community to support KRG and promote constructive talks with the Iraqi Federal Government.

Ambassador Kutrashev noted Russia is prepared to assist the Kurdistan Region and Iraq on both economic and political fronts to bring greater stability to the region.
