KRG Deputy Prime Minister Talabani discusses security integration with Ministry of Interior

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Interior Major General Chato Salih, today met with stakeholders within the Ministry of Interior to explore ways to enhance security coordination in the Kurdistan Region.

The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the recent appointments of the heads of the Sulaymaniyah intelligence agency and counterterrorism unit as an opportunity to strengthen coordination between security outfits and affirmed the government’s support in bolstering their efforts.

He also emphasised the need to prioritize the protection of civilian lives and the stability of the region, as well as the importance of maintaining an impartial security system that is free of political interference.
