Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani meets with US delegation to discuss private sector investments

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani today met with a US delegation headed by the US Consul General in Erbil, Rob Waller, to discuss economic growth through the development of the Kurdistan Region’s private sector.

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the Kurdistan Regional Government’s reform efforts, specifically in the banking sector to support the establishment of new markets and creation of sustainable economic opportunities in the private sector.

Deputy Prime Minister Talabani also noted that KRG will continue to facilitate the exchange of goods and services with international partners, including American-made imports to the Kurdistan Region.

Consul General Waller expressed his support for the Kurdistan Regional Government’s efforts to promote economic growth in the region and work closely with the Iraqi Federal Government to implement the 2021 budget bill.
